danceVibe have been proudly teaching Novacastrians to dance since 2006!

We love the difference it makes to people's lives and we are passionate about teaching this awesome past-time to as many people as we can!

Come and join us soon? We have an amazing dance community and room for a few more happy faces.

No partner required and first time dancers are welcome and very well catered for.

Newcastle Modern Jive is weekly, on Wednesdays at Kahibah Sports Club.

Please note you must pre-register and cannot than just turn up- sorry! We have limited numbers due to floor size, and high demand which we are extremely grateful for. Safety considerations are important and we need to manage the lead / follow ratio. Managing numbers and balancing the class through pre-registrations helps us continue to provide everyone the best possible dance experienced we can, every night!

Registration for April 12th

Pay at the door.

Out team look forward to seeing everyone for another awesome night of dance, social connection, and flow-state fun.

Venue - Kahibah Sports Club - 63 Kenibea Avenue Kahibah- great food if you want to have dinner before class.

Entry - $18 or FREE this week only for new dancers.

First-time visitor special - First class FREE (April 12th only)

and......First time visitors can, on their first night only, purchase a 3-night pass for $40 for their 2nd, 3rd, and 4th classes.

Night's Format (at least 2 classes and 2 hours of social dancing for all!)

Times are approximate as we may need to adapt slightly on a night-by-night basis!

6.30pm- Doors open and music on.

6.45pm- Fundamentals Class (for new and newish dancers). Ideally, you need to do this brief but important introduction a few times to get you ahead of the game before the main beginner's class (Level 1). You are welcome to attend this class as many times as you like. Getting the essentials right sets a good foundation for future learning!

7.00pm - 7.45pm Level 1 Modern Jive (First timers welcome).

7.45pm - 8.00pm Freestyle (social dancing/practice). We have freestyle mentors on hand to help new and newer dancers every week.

8.00pm - 8.45pm We split into 2 classes of different levels.

Step-up class - Room 1 (This is a class to support new and newer dancers who have not qualified for Intermediate class and helps them develop the skills to progress).

Intermedaite- Room 2. Experienced dancers who have qualified for that level. (Pease book in for a feedback session before attending).

8.45pm - 10.00pm Freestyle (social dancing/practice). Teachers on hand for the first 4 songs to help new/newer dancers.
