Mixed-style dance party, and West Coast Swing classes and workshop prior!

Friday sessions are back!

Next one is February 24th at Cardiff Senior Citizens Club.

A few years back we ran a regular Friday night, a couple of times a month and it was always a very popular and successful night. A great way to end the week and you still have the weekend ahead to enjoy all that life offers! The venue is centrally located, close to eateries, has a great floor

(50% bigger than Kahibah!), high stage and air con.

Please note this is a standard mixed-style dance party from 8pm. Why not organises dinner prior and join us from 8pm. Lots of pubs clubs etc nearby.

What is West Coast Swing?

West Coast Swing (WCS) is an ultra-smooth social swing dance, originating in California, USA. It is characterised by it’s sense of fun, rhythmic footwork, freedom to improvise for both leaders and followers, and it’s beautiful smooth elastic look and spongey feel. It captures a great range of music, including, RnB, Blues, Soul, Soft Rock, and Pop. Check out the video link below.

Standard Mixed-style Dance Party- (Modern Jive and West Coast Swing).

Dancers love a dedicated, private place for social dancing, where they know the music will be catered to them, and where their fellow dancers will be there on mass to connect and dance with. In fact, the social dancing aspect becomes the best part of the dance experience for many! Its also one of the best ways to improve

Prior to the dance party we will be running a FREE level 1 West Coast Swing Class, followed by a 2-class spilt - Step-up for beginners and a West Coast Swing workshop. Details below.

Friday sessions are generally on the 2nd and 4th Friday of each month

6.15pm - Doors open.

6.30pm - 7.00pm Level 1 Class (1st timers welcome and regulars encouraged)- FREE entry.  For those who do the Level 1 class and who don't qualify for the workshop, you are welcome to attend the step-up class at 7pm-7.45pm, ($10). Your first dance party is free.  Step-up and dance party is $20.

7.00pm - 8.00pm Workshop $15 - (Price may vary when we have visiting teachers).

8.00pm - 11.00pm Dance Party ONLY, $15

Workshop and dance party is discounted to $25, bringing the workshop cost effectively to only $10.

Standard mixed-style format for the dance party, thoughtfully catering to Modern Jive & West Coast Swing dancers.

As a guide you will easily be able to dance 3 of 4 songs for Modern Jivers and the same for West Coasters, the 4th song is also danceable but may be more challenging.

We love keeping the community together, building social connection, developing dancers and we look forward to seeing everyone on the floor doing what they love in 2023 at our Friday Sessions..
